Acceptable Use Policy

The rules that keep shared infrastructure fast and safe for every site on it. They apply to all managed hosting plans and to any site we host as part of a support or project engagement.

Veridian Marketing, LLC Last updated: [September 9, 2026] Part of the Terms of Use

Draft for owner and legal review. Resource and email limits in [brackets] should be set to the actual server configuration. Remove this notice before publishing.

01Scope

This policy applies to every website, application, database, email service, and file hosted on infrastructure operated by Veridian Marketing, LLC, whether under a managed hosting plan on the hosting page or as part of a support or project engagement. You are responsible for your own use and for the use of anyone you give access to, including staff, contractors, and other agencies.

02Prohibited content

Do not host, store, or distribute:

  • Content that is unlawful under United States or Ohio law, or that infringes copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights, including unlicensed themes, plugins, media, or software
  • Malware, phishing pages, credential-harvesting forms, or anything designed to deceive or harm visitors
  • Content that promotes violence, harassment, or discrimination against protected groups
  • Sexually explicit material
  • Personal data you are not entitled to hold, or that is held in breach of the law that applies to it
  • Material that misrepresents Veridian, your business, or a third party

03Prohibited activities

  • Sending unsolicited bulk email or operating mailing lists without verifiable consent (see section 05)
  • Cryptocurrency mining, proxy or VPN services, file-sharing hubs, torrent trackers, or public file storage
  • Running scripts or bots that scrape, attack, probe, or overload other systems, or that attempt to access accounts or servers you are not authorized to use
  • Reselling hosting or using an account as a general-purpose host for unrelated third parties without written agreement
  • Circumventing plan limits, security tooling, or monitoring
  • Using the hosting for anything that exposes Veridian or other customers to legal liability

04Resource use

Plans include the number of sites, storage, and bandwidth listed on the hosting page. Because most tiers run on shared infrastructure, we also monitor CPU, memory, database load, and concurrent processes. A site that consistently consumes more than [the plan’s allocation, e.g., X% CPU or Y concurrent PHP workers] or that degrades performance for other customers will be asked to move up a tier or to a dedicated environment. Sustained overuse after notice may result in throttling until it is resolved. Typical causes are unoptimized plugins, uncached traffic spikes, and runaway cron jobs; a support plan covers fixing them.

05Email sending

Hosting includes transactional email from your website, such as form notifications and order confirmations. Marketing email should be sent from a dedicated service such as Mailchimp or HubSpot, not from the web server. Sending is limited to [N] messages per hour per account. Recipients must have a clear relationship with you or have opted in, every marketing message must include an unsubscribe method, and your domain must publish SPF and DKIM records; we will help you set them up. Complaint rates that threaten server reputation will result in sending being suspended for the affected account.

06Your security responsibilities

  • Keep WordPress core, themes, and plugins updated, or hold a support plan that covers updates
  • Use strong, unique passwords and two-factor authentication on WordPress, cPanel, and email accounts, and remove accounts for people who no longer need access
  • Install only software from legitimate sources; “nulled” premium plugins are a leading cause of compromises and are prohibited
  • Tell us promptly if you believe a site or account has been compromised

Veridian maintains the server environment, security suite, TLS certificates, and network protections listed for your plan. If a site is compromised through out-of-date or unlicensed software, remediation is billable unless a support plan covers it.

07Backups and data

Plan backups run on the schedule stated for your tier (3 to 30 days of retention) and are a convenience for recovery, not a substitute for your own copies. Keep independent backups of anything you cannot afford to lose. You own your content and data; on cancellation we provide a copy of site files and database on request within [14] days, after which the data is deleted.

08Enforcement

When we find a violation we prefer to fix it with you. For most issues we will notify you, explain the problem, and set a reasonable deadline. For issues that put other customers or the platform at risk, such as active malware, phishing, spam bursts, or attacks originating from your site, we may suspend the affected site immediately and notify you afterwards. Repeated or serious violations may lead to termination of the hosting plan under the Terms of Use. Where the law requires it, we will cooperate with lawful requests from authorities.

09Reporting abuse

To report spam, malware, phishing, or copyright infringement involving a site we host, call (419) 540-0015 or use the contact form with the URL and a description. Copyright notices should follow the procedure in section 07 of the Terms of Use.
